Tiger Woods’ laughter doubled after Kevin Kisner’s TGL shot
What Kevin Kisner did on the 14th hole during Tuesday night’s match may go down as the funniest moment in TGL history, even though this new project is only two weeks old.
After hitting his approach to the greenside bunker, Kisner, who is semi-retired and doesn’t play competitively much, Hit the whole shank. His rocket proboscis shot out of his wedge and lined up toward the flagpole. The ball bounced off the pin, with a loud slap, and his ball finally settled just outside the green.
Tiger Woods couldn’t help himself as he doubled over in disbelief. Golf fans have never seen him laugh more. His colleague Max Homa shared similar sentiments, laughing so hard he could barely breathe.
It’s a good thing the pin was Kisner’s way, otherwise his leg likely would have ended up in the SoFi Center crowd, which would have caused a lot of distress.
“Honestly, we didn’t think anyone could get beaten here,” Woods said.
“But that was one of the funniest moments I’ve ever seen, Case hitting that shot like that. We were just dying.”
In typical Kiss fashion, he removed his leg by roughly punching through his return bracket. He hit a great third shot that landed on the green, dropped down the slope, and appeared to be headed for the hole. It could have been a stunning goal, but his attempt failed at the last second. He had to settle for a fourth bogey, which wasn’t a bad result, all things considered.
However, Kisner Woods’ club, Jupiter Links Golf Club, had a rather poor performance in his first appearance. They lost to Los Angeles Golf Club by 12 to 1, with Collin Morikawa and Sahith Thegalla hitting a bunch of powerful shots while Justin Rose hit a lot of putts.
At least Kissner gave everyone a big laugh amid the explosion.
