Three teenagers have been warned about segregated riding on Sydney trains as police search for two more

Three teenagers have been arrested and cautioned as police continue to search for two others allegedly involved in frequent ‘stand-up riding’ on the Sydney train network.

Police say five teenagers were first spotted riding in train carriages – or riding on the backs of trains – across the Harbor Bridge at around 5pm on Sunday, January 19, and then again on Monday, January 20.

At around 9.30pm on Monday, a teenage boy was seen on CCTV riding at the back of a light rail tram on George Street St Louis.

He fell from the moving tram but was not injured.

Three teenagers then ran off the tram into World Square, before police say they were spotted again on George Street where two of them were arrested but one of them allegedly escaped and was chased by police.

All three were later taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where two 14-year-old boys were given youth cautions for sequestered riding and possession of home invasion tools, while a 13-year-old received a caution under the Young Offenders Act.

Police are continuing their investigations and are seeking to speak to other teenagers.
