The Russo brothers are teasing a new Avengers movie
The Russo Brothers shared some of the behind-the-scenes story behind their return to the MCU with a pair of upcoming films. Avengers films, doomsday and Secret Wars.
in Interview with Empire magazine Posted on Monday, director Anthony Russo, who is directing the upcoming films alongside his brother Joe, shared that it “took a while” to start thinking about it. Over the years, he shared, there have been conversations with the Marvel team ā including president Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D’Esposito ā and ideas have been floated for potential new films to collaborate on. āBut what really happened was we ended up stumbling upon an idea that motivated all of us,ā Anthony said. āYou couldn’t see it coming, and once it arrived it was like, ‘Okay, this is a story we have to tell.’
They are reunited for the upcoming Marvel films with screenwriter Stephen McFeely ā one half of the Markus and McFeely partnership, who have written all of the previous Russo Brothers Marvel movies ā recalling Joe Russo, in this week’s profile, calling the latter a “crazy idea.”
