FIFA GANNI Infantino President announced on Thursday that the United States is the only exhibition of the Women’s World Cup for the year 2031, and the UK is scheduled to host the 2035 championship. Speaking at the UEFA conference in Belgrade, Infantino said that the only offer for 2031 was “from the United States of America and perhaps some other Concacaf members together, 2035 from Europe, from home countries”. Infantino also said FIFA planned to increase the number of teams participating in the Women’s World Cup from 32 teams to 48 teams in time for the 2031 championship.
The announcement of Thursday comes after football societies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland revealed last month that it will provide an expression of interest in organizing the tournament.
