The Match Factory appoints French executive Agathe Valentin to the position of Sales Director
French international sales expert Agathe Valentin has joined The Match Factory in the newly created position of Sales Director with immediate effect.
She will report to the Germany-based film production company’s longtime vice president of international sales, Tanya Dimitrakopoulou.
The company said that Valentin’s remit, operating out of Brussels, is to be a key driver in implementing initiatives that expand the organization’s international footprint and achieve its goals.
Valentine has gained sales experience at a number of top sales companies over the course of her two-decade career, working on a host of award-winning films in the process.
She was head of sales at Les Films du Losange for eight years, selling titles such as Michael Haneke’s Palme d’Or winners. White tape and ThingsWhich also won the 2013 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
She headed to Pyramid in the same role in 2015, where she took care of films such as John Trengove’s film. The wound And the French breakthrough of Hubert Charwell Blood milk.
In 2018, she co-founded the Paris-based sales and production company Totem Films, where highlights included Juho Kuosmanen winning the Cannes Grand Prix. Cabin No. 6.
Most recently, Valentin served as Sales Director at UK-based international sales company HanWay Films.

The appointment comes as The Match Factory prepares for Sundance, where the company will premiere Magic farm Written by Amalia Ullman and Sherine Daibes All that’s left of youFollowed by the Berlinale, where many films will be shown.
