India opened its account in the Billy Jean King Cup by beating 2-1 over Thailand in the group stage in Bonn on Wednesday. Shrivalli Bhamidipaty put the hosted by the hosts with its certain victory, before the experienced duo of Ankita Raina and Parthana Thombare helped India out of the championship held at the Mhalung Balewadi Tennis complex. Bhamidipaty was picked up where she stopped on the first day, and she performed another leader against Taraude in Thailand.
