The Daily Wire has proven that its films can thrive behind a paywall and in theaters.
The 2022 documentary “What is a Woman?” It shook the culture without overseeing a single cinema. This year’s “Am I Racist?” It became the most popular documentary in a decade after it hit theaters across the country.
The conservative platform will release its next film on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The Daily Wire exposed the “identity crisis” at AmericaFest 2024 LIVE in Phoenix earlier today. This feature takes an insight into so-called gender-affirming care for tweens and teens. The teaser shows media figures like Dr. Phil pondering the topic. We also see young people who have undergone surgery and have deep regret.
The trailer shows several children with their faces blurred to protect their identity. The film will default to the Daily Wire online payment system three days after its initial social media release.
The choice to premiere the film on X makes sense on several levels. It can spread far and wide for maximum exposure. Musk’s X won’t censor content, which can’t be said for platforms like Instagram and YouTube.

X’s role in culture has risen significantly over the past year. the Delay platform helped Vote on the continuing resolution to ensure that some of its problematic provisions can be stripped. Controversial topics that might have been banned or censored by the old Twitter system flowed freely during the last election cycle.
“Identity Crisis dives head-on into what was one of the most pressing issues of the 2024 election, and we are thrilled to partner with Turning Point USA to distribute this project rooted in shared values and commitment to courageous storytelling,” Daily Wire co-founder and co-CEO Jeremy Boring said in a statement. .
Here is the official description of the film:
What happens when ideology trumps biology? Identity Crisis delves into one of the most polarizing debates of our time: the rise of gender ideology and its impact on children. Inspired by the cultural phenomenon “What is a Woman?”, this emotionally charged documentary shares deeply personal accounts from libertarians, parents, and professionals fighting against a system that prioritizes political agendas over child care. Identity Crisis urgently invites viewers to reconsider the cost of identity reconfiguration.
The Daily Wire’s entertainment section includes feature films (“Shut In”, “Terror on the Prairie”), comedies (“Mr. Birchum”), documentaries and children’s entertainment.
“Identity Crisis,” produced in partnership with Turning Point USA, will premiere on January 10, 2025 exclusively on X.
The Daily Wire could have opted for a second theatrical release, coming on the heels of Am I a Racist? The site would make a lot less money from the documentary if they did. Perhaps the goal is to change the norms of hearts and minds rather than expand the bottom line.
