South Korea to ban the energy bank shipping on board after the plane fire

The Ministry of Transport in South Korea announced on Thursday measures to enhance the rules of aviation safety, after a Busan air plane fire Last month, which will include reducing the number and type of portable batteries permitted on flights.

These measures entered into force on the first of March, after the Airbus, which belongs to the South Korean Airlines on January 28 at Jimhai International Airport in the southern part of South Korea while it is ready to leave for Hong Kong.

Under the new safety measures, passengers are allowed to carry up to five portable batteries up to 100 watts, while batteries will not be allowed for more than 160 watts.

The ministry said in a statement that the security searches will include verifying the number and types of batteries, and the charging of the portable batteries will be banned on a plane.

Reverse a similar decision already taken by Air Busan last week.

The ministry said that the decision comes in an attempt to address the concerns about potential portable battery fires, although the cause of the fire on the Busan air plane has not yet been determined.
