ABC brass thought they had Roseanne Barr locked down for good.
The network canceled its “Roseanne” revival in 2018 after it revealed a crude, racially charged tweet about a former Obama official. Barr quickly apologized and feigned ignorance about the purpose of her post.
Apology is not accepted.
Barr licked her professional wounds and returned on her own terms. She starred in FOX Nation’s comeback special, launched a self-titled podcast and began playing gigs on Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership. She even got a role in the show “Mr. Birchum” series.
Now she’s rapping alongside one of music’s most successful independent artists days before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office.
once again.
Tom McDonald’s “Daddy’s Home” celebrates Trump’s victory in November. The jubilant track finds MacDonald and Barr standing in front of a crowd of flag-waving MAGA fans.
The song quickly became the number one song on iTunes.
“Daddy’s Home” depicts woke culture and outgoing President Joe Biden. Barr gets a solo turn and is released.
They tried to cancel me and say I’m a racist
I got a mean hook, they can’t get me with that jab.
Try to take away my right to go and say this (woo!)
Well, listen, ’cause this grandma’s gone bad (it’s going to be bad)
With facts, facts, facts, facts
F***, F***, F***
Why did they try to turn Becky into Dan? (That’s a man!)
You get pap, pap, pap, pap, pap, pap, papped
Fuck Eminem, you bitch, I’m Roseanne (this is Roseanne)
The late Norm MacDonald praised Barr for doing her best to hire black writers for “Roseanne.” The sitcom queen helped future actresses chart their own shots in Hollywood.
It was a Friendly to the gay community (“Roseanne” featured a rare lesbian kiss.) The rebooted sitcom was used to bridge the gap between left and right.
She has also spoken out about her mental health struggles and ran for the White House as part of the Green Party. She uses a homophobic slur in “Daddy’s Home,” shown above, showing that her need for provocation has not subsided.
The music is now part of her unofficial “Revenge Is Sweet” tour.
“Daddy’s Home” has had more than 1.5 million views on YouTube in less than 24 hours.
