Renee Zellweger is breaking her silence on why she took a six-year hiatus from Hollywood
Renee Zellweger has opened up about why she took a six-year retreat from the Hollywood industry.
While chatting with British VogueThe American actress also spoke candidly about her mental health journey.
“Because I needed…I was tired of my own voice,” Judy The actress started saying.
Reflecting on why she decided to take a break from the big screen from 2010 to 2016, she said: “When I was working, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I listen to you.’”
“Are you sad again, Renee? Oh, is that your crazy voice? … It was a rumination on the same emotional experiences.”
Zellweger is currently promoting the fourth installment of Bridget Jones Where she stars alongside Hugh Grant, Leo Woodall, and Colin Firth.
Furthermore, the 55-year-old actress revealed what she did on her temporary leave, telling the publication: “I wrote music and studied international law.”
“I built a house, rescued a pair of older dogs, created a partnership that led to a production company, and advocated for and raised money for a sick friend.”
Before concluding her speech, she said: “And I spent a lot of time with family and kids and driving across the country with the dogs. “I have become healthy.”
For those who don’t know much, Renee Zellweger was married to country singer Kenny Chesney from May 2005 to December 2005. She has no children.
