Neymar is reportedly in talks with Chicago Fire and other clubs over an MLS move
Nyima is in talks with Chicago Fire FC and two other clubs about moving to Major League Soccer Report from ESPN Wednesday.
Inter Miami, home of Neymar’s former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi, is not in the current mix for Neymar, according to the report.
Neymar was asked about a possible move to Inter Miami earlier this month and he kept the door open.
“Who knows?” Neymar told CNN Sport:. “Football is full of surprises.”
The 32-year-old Brazilian star is currently playing in the Saudi Professional League with Al-Hilal after agreeing to join the club in August 2023 for a $300 million contract, but he is limited to just seven matches in two seasons due to injuries, including a major injury to his left leg. The knee kept him from playing in the Copa America.
Neymar’s contract expires this summer, and while he stressed he is happy in Saudi Arabia, he acknowledged that re-creating the famous ‘MSN’ attacking trio with Neymar and Suarez in Miami would be “unbelievable”.
“They are my friends,” Neymar said. “We still talk to each other. It will be interesting to revive this trio.”
But Neymar has his sights set on a bigger benchmark in his career: making Brazil’s qualifying list for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
“I want to be there,” Neymar said. “I know this will be my last World Cup – my last chance, my last chance – and I will give everything I can to play in it.”
Neymar last played for Brazil during the 2023 World Cup qualifiers. He scored two goals and three assists in four matches. Neymar has not played with Al Hilal since December 7 due to a hamstring injury.
