Mandy Moore says “kindly” to those who criticize her for sharing a GoFundMe with her in-laws. They lost their home to the Los Angeles wildfires.

Singer and actress Mandy Moore is unapologetic for sharing a GoFundMe page on her Instagram. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support her in-laws, who lost their home due to ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

“People wonder if we are helping our families or crediting someone with an arbitrary amount of money that Google says isn’t helpful or compassionate,” Moore wrote on one site. Now deleted Instagram post. “Of course we are.”

“Our friend Matt started this GoFundMe and I’m sharing it because people have asked how they can help,” she explained. “We lost most of our lives in a fire too. Please F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.”

Moore’s home in Altadena is about 30 miles east of Pacific Palisades, where wildfires remain only 13% under control. She and her husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith, saw extensive damage to their home. But Goldsmith’s brother, Griffin, and his wife, Kate, lost their home to the Eaton fire.

“With their first child due to arrive in a matter of weeks, they need our support now more than ever,” Moore said. “Griff is a touring musician who also lost his entire arsenal of drums/percussions that he uses to make a living. It’s all too much.”

the GoFundMe campaign Goldsmiths has already surpassed its $60,000 goal. Moore said she feels a strange survivor’s guilt because the damage to her home is relatively not as bad as others she knows who have lost everything.

“Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. It’s not livable but it’s mostly intact books In a separate Instagram post. “We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio with every tool and piece of equipment they ever owned. We lost the garage and the back house. Everyone we knew lost everything. Every house on our street is gone.”
