Mandy Moore’s family lives with Hilary Duff amidst the Los Angeles wildfires

Mandy Moore and her family took refuge in Hilary Duff’s house after their property was damaged in the Los Angeles wildfires.

Actress Lizzie McGuire and her husband, music producer Matthew Koma, welcomed the This Is Us star, her husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith, and their three children.

Moore’s brother-in-law, Griffin Goldsmith, who lost his home in the fires, revealed the news in an Instagram post.

“Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff thought it would be wise to set up a support fund for us to help move everything forward,” he wrote in the lengthy caption. “Not to mention, they are currently housing my brother’s family. They have taken care of my entire family from the moment this started. I will never be able to thank them enough.”

He added: “This is the kindest thing anyone can do for another person. They are the most beautiful people we have ever known.”

Mandy evacuated her Altadena home with her children and pets during the emergency last week. She later revealed to her Instagram followers that the main part of the house was “still standing” but was “unlivable”. However, Taylor and Griffin’s music studio, garage, and back house were destroyed.

The A Walk to Remember star recently responded to critics after she shared a link to a GoFundMe page for Griffin and his wife, Kate, who lost everything in the fires just weeks before their baby arrived.

“People wonder if we’re helping our families or crediting an arbitrary amount of money that Google says someone has isn’t helpful or compassionate. Of course we are,” she wrote. “Our friend Matt started this GoFundMe and I’m sharing it because people have asked how they can help. We just lost most of our lives in a fire too.”

She signed off her post by writing, “Please stop. No one is forcing you to do anything.”
