After losing her entire family home to the devastating Los Angeles bushfires, Mandy Moore today revealed another A-list couple has taken her in.
The actress’s update comes after she was met with backlash for starting a GoFundMe account to raise money for her family following their devastating loss, despite being a big-name star.
Earlier this week, the 40-year-old was among several celebrities who revealed their home was completely destroyed as a result of ongoing fires last week – alongside the likes of Miles Teller, Paris Hilton, Rainn Wilson and Cameron Mathison.
But unfortunately, her heartache was followed by criticism from online trolls, after she shared a link to a donation page meant to send money to her brother-in-law and his wife, who was pregnant with their first child, and had also given birth to their first child. They lost their home.
“With their first child due in a matter of weeks, they need our support now more than ever,” Moore wrote on Instagram. “Griff is a touring musician who also lost his entire arsenal of drums/percussions that he uses to make a living.”
After surpassing the initial goal and making a staggering $199,000, Moore received suggestions that she should donate her fortune to their cause, leading her to tell her critics to “please go away.”
“And people asking if we are helping our family or crediting some arbitrary amount of money that Google says someone is not helpful or compassionate,” she responded on Instagram.
As we say, despite the backlash, Moore and her loved ones have since received some positive news, as they received refuge from their co-star Hilary Duff and her family during their time of need.
