Hillary helps Mandy’s brother-in-law
Mandy’s brother-in-law and musician, Griffin Goldsmith, took to his Instagram account and wrote a message of gratitude to Hilary and her husband, Matthew Koma. Griffin is the brother of Mandy’s husband, Taylor Goldsmith. They are part of Dawes’ band. Griffin lost his home in the Los Angeles wildfires.
“It’s all so overwhelming. But what’s no less amazing is the amount of love and generosity we’re receiving. Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff thought it would be wise to set up a gofundme for us to help move forward. Not to mention, they’re currently housing my brother’s family. They’ve taken care of my entire family “From the moment this started, I will never be able to thank them enough. This is the kindest thing anyone can do for another,” Griffin wrote. “The most selfless of them.”
Mandy clapped back at the trolls
Griffin also thanked all the donors as he and his wife received $205,000 from the GoFundMe page. Earlier, Mandy also shared a GoFundMe link on her social media, but received criticism for not supporting her brother financially and asking for charity instead. She responded to the trolls in an Instagram Story, “People ask if we’re helping our family or allocating some arbitrary amount of money that Google says someone isn’t helpful or compassionate. Of course we are. Our friend Matt started this GoFundMe and I’m sharing because people asked how They can help, we lost most of our lives in a fire too.
Last week, Mandy shared that she was “devastated and devastated” after the Eaton Fire — located about 30 miles east of the Pacific Palisades Fire — quickly spread through her neighborhood. She revealed that she had been evacuated and was safe with her “kids, dogs and cats.” “Grateful for the kindness of friends that we had a place to land last night.
