Mandy Moore attacks her critics after backlash

American actress Mandy Moore has responded to critics who asked her to share a GoFundMe to help her family members whose homes were destroyed in the Los Angeles fires.

She previously told her fans that although her Altadena home is still safe, the back house, garage and music studio owned by her family have been lost.

The actress then shared a link to a GoFundMe for both her brother-in-law and sister-in-law who “tragically lost their home and everything they owned in the Eaton Fire.”

She explained: “With their first child arriving in a matter of weeks, they need our support now more than ever. Griff is a touring musician and has also lost his entire arsenal of drums/percussion instruments that he uses to make a living. It’s all too much, and many have asked about How to help during this unimaginably difficult time… Please consider donating and sharing to help them rebuild.

Moore then received backlash for asking her fans to support her family members instead of contributing to helping them herself.

In response to people who criticized her post, she said: “And people who wonder if we’re helping our family or crediting some arbitrary amount of money that Google says someone has isn’t helpful or compassionate. Of course we are.”

He continued: “Our friend Matt started this GoFundMe and I’m sharing it because people have asked how they can help. We just lost most of our lives in a fire too.”

“Please stop. No one is forcing you to do anything,” Mandy Moore boldly concluded.
