Luka Modric becomes a co -owner of the championship club Swansea

The championship club announced on Monday that Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric joined Swansea as an investor and a participant owner. Captain Croatia, 39, spent the past 13 seasons with Real Madrid and helped them win six titles in the Champions League after a talisman in Tottenham earlier in his career. Swansea failed to reveal the amount of Modric, which won Ballon D’or in 2018, invested but expressed an opportunity to use his knowledge to help the Welsh club, which plays at the second level of the English Premier League.
“This is an exciting opportunity,” said Modric on the club’s website.
“Playing at the highest level, I think I can provide my experience for the club.
“My goal is to support the club’s growth in a positive way and help build an exciting future.”
Modric’s immediate focus is on the quarter-finals in the Champions League in the quarter-finals at home against Arsenal on Wednesday, with his team late 3-0 after the first leg.
His contract in Bernabeu is scheduled to expire at the end of this season.
Modric’s decision to invest in the football club Football Club follows Kaylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior in the same manner in Ligue 2 Caen and Portuguese FC alverca, respectively.
“I am excited because Luka has come on board as an investor and a participant owner,” said Tom Goring, CEO of Swansea.
“There is no better model in the game for our players, from the academy to the first team.”
Swansea is currently 12 in the tournament.
