French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Beirut on Friday for meetings with the Lebanese president, prime minister and parliament speaker as the country tries to recover from the devastating 14-month war between Israel and Hezbollah. Macron’s office said Macron’s visit aims to help “consolidate” the country’s sovereignty and unity.
