Leslie Lenka Glatter, director and president of the DGA, loses her home in the Los Angeles fires

Leslie Linka Glatter, a senior television director and producer and president of the Directors Guild of America, revealed that she lost her home in the Pacific Palisades area in the wildfires that burned this week across Los Angeles.

“Sadly, my house is gone, as are many of the Palisades homes…and this is heartbreaking for many.” Glatter wrote on Instagram. “My heart goes out to all those who have lost so much and to those in danger.”

She added that she was safe in her “son’s home in the valley,” and thanked those who reached out to her amid the disaster.

She too Share a message to DGA members on Friday as she reflected further on the tragedy: “I have been so blessed to call Pacific Palisades home. It’s where I raised my son and have lived for over 20 years. Tuesday night, I lost my home along with hundreds of others in Palisades, Malibu, Altadena, Pasadena.” , Sierra Madre and other communities where we have lived, worked, and photographed for so long. This emergency and the hurt that so many of us feel is far from over, but I know that whatever it is, it will We somehow persevere and come out the other side of this.”

In her note, Glatter also explained her thoughts on the wildfires, including how they occurred after Hollywood had already been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, actor and writer strikes and “work contraction.” She expressed her appreciation for the union members, the shared resources, and the ways in which they can assist in recovery efforts.

“I wanted to reach out to you personally because my heart is heavy with so much that I have lost in the ongoing wildfires. I know I am not alone,” Glatter wrote. “In every conversation I have had with members over the past few days, the devastating loss has been deeply emotional for all of us. These are the communities we love and cherish, places where we have strong roots, and feeling the burning all around us was heartbreaking. I’m also angry and sad that this comes at a moment when we were just about to turn the corner after the pandemic, strikes and labor contraction – 2025 was scheduled to be the year we rose again.

She added: “But what gives me hope is you.” Every call or email I’ve had with members has shown me the humanity of our DGA community – the ability to stand together through moments like these – supporting each other with the strength to move forward. And that’s what we will continue to do – provide support and move forward.

Glatter is the latest entertainment industry figure to see her home destroyed by the Los Angeles wildfires.
