Jessica Alba has reportedly hired a divorce lawyer amid her split from husband Cash Warren.
The couple, who have been married for 16 years, are preparing for divorce but remain committed to co-parenting their three children: Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and Hayes, 7, a source exclusively told PEOPLE.
News of the breakup first surfaced on January 9, when TMZ reported that the couple had parted ways. Despite their breakup, a source revealed to PEOPLE that Alba, 43, and Warren, 45, are still “friends and all about the kids,” stressing that there is no drama behind the breakup. “Jess has mentioned over the years that it’s hard to keep the spark going,” the source added.
Alba and Warren met on the set of Fantastic Four in Vancouver in 2004, where Alba played Sue Storm and Warren served as assistant director. They tied the knot in May 2008 and celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary in May 2024. At the time, Alba shared a touching post on Instagram, writing: “16 years of marriage, 20 years together, and forever.”
The recent sighting of the couple without their wedding ring sparked speculation about their separation. However, they reunited to celebrate their son Hayes’ seventh birthday earlier in January, presenting a united front for their children.
On New Year’s Eve, Alba shared a reflective post on Instagram, describing her year as one filled with “connection, growth and transformation,” while omitting any mention of Warren.
The couple’s decision to separate appears to be amicable, with the focus on maintaining their close ties for the sake of their family.
