With three children and two decades together, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren always seem to have one of the strongest marriages in the entertainment industry.
But now the longtime couple have become the latest celebrity couple to face whispers they’ve secretly split, just months before their 17th wedding anniversary.
TMZ reports that the couple is moving forward with divorce proceedings, though representatives for both stars have yet to comment on the allegations.
“Many of their friends had been wondering for most of the last year if a split was looming,” says an insider. Women’s Day.
“It appears they were living their separate lives while she rebooted her career and was unclear about their future plans.”
Out and about
In recent weeks, Jess, 43, has been spotted several times around Los Angeles without her wedding ring, one of which was… W The magazine’s annual pre-Golden Globes party at celebrity hotspot Chateau Marmont.
“This is a woman who has had to defend her marriage, which is why it’s shocking that she’s risking further divorce speculation by leaving her wedding ring behind,” the source adds.
Cash, 45, was also ringless while walking with a friend last week.
But it was Jessica’s social media activity that fueled rumors of possible trouble in the marriage before last week’s reports, with vague quotes about tough choices and new beginnings taking over her Instagram page.
On New Year’s Day, Jessica shared the message, “Keep some space in your heart for the unthinkable.”
She also posted a collection of photos with friends and family to sum up her “gratitude” for 2024, with none of them showing criticism.
Laying on the forehead
Interestingly, among the photos was a telling quote, “When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment it grows in, not the flower” — a poignant post she also shared in November.
Although Jess also posted happy family photos with Cash and their daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and their son Hayes at Christmas and Hayes’ seventh birthday, people were quick to notice that Cash wasn’t wearing a ring in the photos.
“The situation between Jessica and Cash is not good,” our source notes.
“Her family doesn’t get along well with him, and she almost abandoned him several times, but she always stood by him for reasons everyone assumed were children. They will always be her priority.”
Just a few weeks ago, Jess’ wedding ring was about to expire when she and producer Cash attended their “favorite night” — the Baby2Baby concert in November.
But since then, they have been living separate lives, with Jess filming her next project, Maserati: Brothersin Italy.
The star, who has slowed down from acting to build her Honest Company business, was seen filming steamy scenes with her co-star Lorenzo Di Moor, and attended a red carpet event with co-star Michele Morrone in Rome.
The insider says Jess’s career has been a source of tension with Cash in the past, saying: “She got to the point where she had to stop giving him jobs in her movies because he was being obnoxious and insecure.”
Last year, Cash admitted that the couple experienced the usual highs and lows of a marriage, but he also admitted that he struggled with jealousy, which caused his split from Jess four years later.
“I was really jealous of the other guys and the attention she was getting from the other guys,” he said.
“It wasn’t making me feel good.”
