How to make passive income from Mediavine

As bloggers look to diversify their income, and of course make more money, Mediavine has been mentioned a lot lately. I’ve been working with them now for a few years and haven’t looked back since. In this blog post, I want to share my experience making passive income with Mediavine, as well as everything you need to know about joining them.

Who are Mediavine?

Mediavine is a full-service ad management company for content creators.

What does this mean?

The display ads you see on my blog are provided by Mediavine. After applying and setting up once, they handle everything and pay me once a month.

However, they offer more than this! They truly put bloggers and their content first, with a supportive Facebook group, their willingness to grow and the great prices they pay.

What are display ads?

Display advertising is one of the ways bloggers make money.

These are ads that include images and text on a specific page, in addition to video, audio, and animation.

Content creators, many of whom are bloggers like me, rely on display ads to generate income.

Ads create passive income

I’ll be the first to admit that having ads on a blog can sometimes take away from the enjoyment of readers, however, it can also lead to significant passive income.

Passive income is where you earn money without having to trade your time.

For example, your blog can make money from ads while you sleep – making it passive income.

Is it worth joining Mediavine?

Everyone’s experiences will be different, based on their blog content, page views, impressions, and more.

However, I now earn more daily from Mediavine than I otherwise would have A whole month with Google AdSense.

During that time, my blog traffic has been hovering around the same mark, which means plus or minus 15,000 page views per month.

Other bloggers I’ve talked to match their full-time career income from Mediavine ads.

Mediavine were instrumental in helping my business earn over £100,000 in 2018 and I wouldn’t be without them.

In one short word: Yes! It’s worth joining Mediavine if you’re a blogger.

Other great Mediavine benefits

Mediavine has some great features and benefits that you might want to take advantage of.

They have an active Facebook group that you can join once you are accepted into their network. This group includes bloggers from different fields, and they often help each other and share each other’s content.

Another great feature is that you can turn off ads on certain blog posts. I’ve decided to turn off in-content ads in my sponsored posts to make it a better experience for any brands that want to work with me. This is really easy to do.

Another great benefit is the annual Mediavine bonus. You start with 1% of your profits in the first year, and this amount increases by 1% each year. This is a completely free bonus to reward you for using Mediavine.

How to Increase Your Sessions to Apply for Mediavine

In order to apply to Mediavine, you need 50,000 sessions per month.

We know what page views are, but what are sessions?

Google Analytics defines a session as the set of interactions one user has on your blog within 30 minutes. For example, if someone comes to your blog and visits a few pages, everything they do during those 30 minutes counts as one session.

By increasing your page views, your sessions should increase as well.

The first alternative is to simply not place any ads on your blog. As I mentioned, I now make more per day with Mediavine than I did in an entire month with Google Adsense, so you may want to consider waiting until you reach your Mediavine limit.
