Hilary Duff extends a helping hand to her friend Mandy Moore.
Businesswoman and “Lizzie McGuire” alumna welcomed the family of the “This Is Us” actress, who lost her home in the Los Angeles wildfires that swept through large swaths of Southern California.
Moore he said in an update on social media “Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing” today. “It’s not livable but it’s mostly intact,” she said on Instagram.
Moore’s brother-in-law and drummer Griffin “Griff” Goldsmith from the band Dawes has taken to Instagram to praise Duff for allowing Moore to stay with her after the family home was deemed uninhabitable. Moore is married to Dawes singer Taylor Goldsmith and they have three children.
“Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff thought it would be wise to set up a gofundme for us to help move everything forward,” the musician wrote. “Not to mention, they are currently housing my brother’s family. They have taken care of my entire family from the moment this started. I will never be able to thank them enough.”

He continued, saying of the Duff family: “This is the kindest thing anyone can do for another person. They are the nicest people we have ever known.”
“Unfortunately, we’re not the only ones thinking about this. We’ve all had to watch our home, the city we love so much, turn overnight into a hellscape. And it’s not over by any means..” Griffin Goldsmith added.
Los Angeles wildfires continue to devastate parts of Southern California. Strong Santa Ana winds returned to the Los Angeles area on Tuesday, threatening to reverse some of the progress made in the battle against deadly wildfires that have destroyed entire neighborhoods and forced tens of thousands to flee their homes.
At least 24 people died in the fires, according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office. The wildfires destroyed or damaged more than 12,000 homes, businesses and other buildings as officials ordered more than 92,000 people to flee their homes.

She added: “Our friend Matt started this, fund me and I’m sharing because people have asked how they can help. We’ve just lost most of our lives in a fire too. Please turn it off. No one is forcing you to do anything.”
