Hilary Duff and husband Matthew Koma are stepping up to support their friends amid devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
On Monday, January 13, Mandy Moore’s brother-in-law, Griffin Goldsmith The heartbreaking photo sharedAn Instagram post shows the destruction of his home and surrounding areas during the ongoing wildfires, and how the former Disney Channel star and her husband helped his family.
In part of the caption, Duff and Koma, both 37, for opening their home to his brother (and Moore’s husband) thanked Taylor Goldsmith’s family, which includes Moore, 40, and their three children, Gus, 3, Oscar, 1, and adult Lou. 4 months old.
“They have taken care of my entire family from the moment this started,” Griffin wrote, praising the couple’s incredible generosity. “They are the most beautiful, most selfless people we have ever known,” he said, expressing his gratitude and also noting that the couple has also set up a GoFundMe for the family to help them recover from the devastation.
It’s safe to say that the couple’s house is probably pretty full right now, as Duff and Koma have three children together: Banks, 6, May, 3, and Townes, 20 months. Duff also shares a 12-year-old son named Luca with ex Mike Comrie.
The wildfires, which started last week on Tuesday, January 7, after strong Santa Ana winds ignited wildfires, forced thousands of people to evacuate, including Moore and her family. Moore shared on Thursday, January 9 that their home was severely damaged by fire, with the main portion still standing but uninhabitable.
Griffin also addressed the devastating loss he and his wife, Kaitlyn Gerard, suffered in office. “We lost everything. 8 years of memories we made in our house. 20 years of equipment,” the musician stated, before revealing, “My wife @quintessentiallykit was putting the finishing touches on the nursery for our baby boy who is due in a few weeks.”
As the Moore and Taylor family grapples with their losses, they are determined to rebuild and have pledged to support others affected by the fires. Moore also asked her followers to donate to a GoFundMe campaign for Griffin’s family, despite facing some backlash. She replied firmly: “No one is forcing you to do anything. Please stop.”
