Doge Head Elon Musk Considers Using Blockchain to Cut Government Costs and Secure US Data: Report
The head of a newly created US federal agency aimed at cutting unnecessary public spending is said to be exploring the use of blockchain to boost government efficiency.
Billionaire and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief Elon Musk is looking into leveraging blockchain technology to cut government expenditures, monitor federal expenditures, mine U.S. data against bad actors, process payments, and manage estates, people with knowledge of the matter say. Reports Bloomberg.
A person familiar with the matter says that individuals associated with DOGE have been in talks with representatives of more than one public blockchain to evaluate the feasibility of their projects. Another source says Musk recruited about 100 volunteers before Trump’s inauguration last week to write code lines for Doug.
Bloomberg says it cannot confirm its sources’ reports because the White House, Doug and Musk himself did not respond to requests for comment.
Last week, Doge’s official website uploaded a photo of the face of Kabuso, the deceased Shiba Inu who inspired DogeCoin (Doge). Kabuso’s face has been removed replacing With US dollar sign.
Doug was originally co-chaired by Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy but Musk It is said Ramaswamy was ousted from the agency.
