CNN has unveiled details of changes to its daytime and afternoon lineups, with Wolf Blitzer moving to the mornings to anchor with Pamela Brown, and Jake Tapper getting a new timeslot to shift Cassie Hunt to the afternoons.
There is no word on what will happen to Jim Acosta, like Blitzer and Brown Status room He will take his place at 10 a.m. ET.
CNN offered him a midnight Eastern time slot, a move that sparked opposition online because it would reduce his exposure. He concluded his program this morning by saying: “I’m Jim Acosta. Still Reports from Washington.”
Other changes: The Jake Tapper Show will move to 5pm-7pm ET, renamed The Hunt Show The arenagetting a 4 p.m. ET slot.
Cornish will take over CNN This Morning at 6 a.m. ET, and Rachel Solomon will host the program at 5 a.m. ET. 5 things.
CNN Worldwide CEO Mark Thompson revealed further plans earlier today to shift the network’s focus to digital, laying off about 200 employees from its workforce but with plans to hire 100 into digital roles.
The network is also developing new streaming services, as well as a website dedicated to lifestyle stories and coverage.
