Summary of the Cleveland Cavaliers and OKC Thunder match

The Cleveland Cavaliers vs. OKC Thunder duel began with the home team taking a 6-0 lead before the Thunder responded with five unanswered points to show how this game would develop. The first quarter was in the Thunder’s favor, as they led 32-25, surprising the Cavaliers in front of their fans.

The second half began with the Cavaliers going on a 10-7 run with 8:45 remaining, cutting the lead to just four points (39-35) and forcing the Thunder to call a timeout.

Cleveland raised the level and dominated the second quarter, winning 37-27 and entering the first half with a 62-59 lead. The second period ended with a huge two-handed dunk by Donovan Mitchell that sent everyone in the arena into a frenzy.

Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley led the Cavaliers in scoring with 15 and 12 points, respectively, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams led the Thunder with 16 and 13 points, respectively.

The Cavaliers and Thunder continued to trade blows in the third quarter, recording the highest scoring period of the game with a combined 84 points (43-41 in favor of the Thunder). The Cavaliers once again dominated the fourth quarter, despite it being the lowest-scoring period of the game (26-20).

The home side completed a fine performance giving them their 32nd win of the season and 19th at home.

Jarrett Allen scored 25 points to open the way for Cleveland, followed by Evan Mobley with 21 points. Darius Garland added 18 points and Donovan Mitchell and Dean Wade scored 11 each, meaning five Cavaliers players scored in double figures. Max Strus and Ty Jerome scored 17 and 15 points off the bench, respectively, to seal the deal.

Despite Gilgeous-Alexander’s 31-point effort, the Thunder couldn’t keep up with the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference.
