Carl Woods has revealed the heartbreaking letter he received from Katie Price’s son Harvey after their explosive split.
The couple, who were together for three years before splitting in 2023, have been overcoming the challenges of IVF in hopes of having a child together.
However, their journey has come to an abrupt end, as revealed in Katie’s new Channel 4 documentary, Katie Price: The Making of Babies, which aired last night.
Katie shared her pain during the programme, explaining how the split had devastated her.
“We’ve been through all this IVF, we’ve failed IVF, and then he can drop me like this. Just drop me like this,” she told the camera.
“Never mind my feelings. Never mind the fact that in my head I thought we were carrying a donor egg inside me. For him to decide now, ‘No, I’ll just stop her.’”
Karl admitted that the decision to end their relationship was the hardest decision he had ever made.
While acknowledging his feelings for Katie, he revealed his struggles with instability in their lives, saying: “It’s the hardest decision of my life, like taking advantage of him. You’d think I was out of order: ‘He left me when we had a baby.’
“It’s not about that at all. What it’s about is bringing stability into my life. The kids need a stable home, and there’s no sign of it changing. I don’t have any fight left in me. They’ve been fighting for three years.”
Karl became emotional as he described receiving a heartfelt message from Harvey, 22, Katie’s eldest son, who has autism and Prader-Willi syndrome.
Harvey, whose father is footballer Dwight Yorke, drew a picture of Carl, writing: “Mummy’s best friend. Daddy Carl Woods, the best dad in the world.”
“This is hard, my friend,” Carl said, thinking about that moment. “It’s been three years with this boy. This is heartbreaking.”
Katie also shared her ongoing struggles with IVF and her sadness over the end of their relationship.
“It’s too bad that I still have to take these IVF pills,” she said. “They said I couldn’t stop it last week, because if I did, it would mess up my period, and I might not come back for months. But yeah, I’m not with Carl, I would love to have a child with Carl, I would love to live with him.
Karl acknowledged Katie’s responsibilities as a mother of five and praised her efforts, saying: “She is a wonderful mother. She has five beautiful children, and she is doing very well.”
Katie, in turn, expressed her frustration with Karl’s criticism of her circumstances.
“All he has to worry about in life is him and his dog. What I have to worry about is five kids, running a big house, dogs, schools, and work,” she said angrily.
Despite their hopes for a future together, Karl admitted that love was not enough to overcome their difficulties.
“It’s just a situation, but sometimes loving someone isn’t enough,” he concluded.
The IVF treatment was followed by a turbulent period during which Karl discovered that Katie had cheated on him with former international polo star Jimmy Morrison and exchanged sexy letters with an English footballer.
Katie, a mother of five, said she had no interest in watching the show and revisiting difficult times in her life.
Neither Katie nor Karl benefited from the production, and instead the budget was spent on funding her treatment.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Carl said of the Channel 4 programme: “My thoughts are that this is old news, everyone has given up on it.
“I can’t see the point of broadcasting it.”
He continues: “I’m sure she’s happy she got a clean break. You know, we don’t have any relationships.”
“Everything happens for a reason. God looked at me and Kate and said, ‘No, you’re not cut out to be parents, let’s not make this work.’ You go this way, I’ll go that way. So, it worked well.”
