Cameron Diaz isn’t looking to put a label on her return to Hollywood.
The actress has just returned to the screen with Netflix Back to work After a 10-year hiatus, it was recently shared with empire magazine If that meant she was back for good.
“I don’t know how to look at it. It’s hard to say,” she explained. “If you say it then it becomes this thing. I reserve the right to say no to doing a film again, and I reserve the right to say yes if I decide to. I don’t specify anything. “I’m open to whatever makes sense for me and my family at any given moment.”
the Charlie’s Angels The star, who appeared in several romantic comedies in the late ’90s and 2000s, explained the type of film she wasn’t necessarily looking to revisit. “No more romantic comedies, just mom comedies,” she added.
Diaz is known for some of her featured roles in romantic comedies such as Vacation, My best friend’s wedding, The other woman, What happens in vegas and In her shoes. However, her new film Back to work It is an action comedy film, also starring Jamie Foxx.
The film follows former CIA spies Emily (Diaz) and Matt (Fox), who are pulled back into espionage after their secret identities are exposed. The film also served as a reunion for the two actors who previously starred in 1999’s film That is, on Sunday And 2014 that I (Which was also Dayes’ last on-screen role before her hiatus).
“I thought if I was going to come back and do a movie, the only person I was going to come back and do it with would be this guy,” she said of Foxx. “Seriously. I’ve had other opportunities along the way and I’ve always said, ‘No. I’m not doing that. I told you…what?’ Jimmy asked? Jimmy? Oh, I can do a movie with Jimmy!'”
In the past decade, Diaz gave birth to two children, daughter Radix and son Cardinal, with her husband, Good Charlotte rock singer Benji Madden. She also launched clean wine brand Avaline with partner Katherine Power in 2020.
