A wave of catastrophic wildfires sweeping through Southern California has left Hollywood stars among those devastated as their homes turn to ash.
The fires, which have killed five people and forced more than 70,000 people to flee their homes, are still raging across Los Angeles County, fueled by strong winds.
The Palisades, Eaton and Hurst fires broke out Tuesday, burning through nearly 23,000 acres, while two other fires — Tyler and Woodley — burned nearby on Wednesday. A state of emergency was declared in the city.

Among the celebrities who lost their homes was Billy Crystal, who revealed that the property where he lived for 46 years had been completely demolished, leaving only a tennis court standing.
In a joint statement with his wife, Janice When Harry Met Sally Najm said: “Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing.” Janice and I have lived in our home since 1979. We have raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away. “We are sad, of course, but with the love of our children and friends, we will overcome this.”
Paris Hilton has shared her grief after seeing news footage of her $8.4 million oceanfront Malibu home “burning to a crisp.”
“This is something no one should ever experience,” she told her fans. “This home is where we built so many precious memories,” Hilton later wrote. “While the loss is devastating, I hold on to gratitude that my family and pets are safe.”
Other notable victims included Anna Faris, whose $5 million, 4,000-square-foot home was destroyed. Eugene Levy, Schitt’s Creek The star and honorary mayor of Palisades also lost his $3.9 million estate. “My heart breaks for my family, friends and the people of Los Angeles affected by the catastrophic fires,” his son Dan Levy wrote on social media.
The princess bride Actor Cary Elwes confirmed the loss of his family’s home, saying, “Sadly, we lost our home but are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire.”

Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins, 87, is also believed to have lost his $6 million home. The haunting photos seem to show only the property’s gate still standing. Hopkins repeatedly posted photos and videos of the residence on social media, which is now in ruins.
Grammy Award-winning songwriter Diane Warren has revealed that her Malibu home of 30 years has been destroyed. “It appears to have been lost in a fire last night,” she wrote. There is a rainbow shining on it, which I consider a sign of hope for all creatures affected by this tragedy. Warren, who runs an animal rescue farm in the area, confirmed that the animals were fine.
Hairspray Actress and talk show host Ricki Lake has lost her “dream home” in Malibu, according to a social media post. “It’s all gone,” she wrote. It was our heaven on earth. The place where we planned to grow old together. We never took our heavenly perch on the bluff overlooking our beloved Malibu for granted, not even for a second.

Married actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester also saw their home destroyed, just days after they attended the Golden Globe Awards.
Actress and musician Mandy Moore’s Altadena home, which she shared with her husband Taylor Goldsmith of the band Doz, was severely damaged by fires. “We were able to park the car and walk down our street to bear witness to all the loss,” Moore wrote on Instagram. Reality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were among those forced to evacuate. Pratt shared emotional details: “The only positive sign I saw when our house burned down was our son’s burning heart-shaped bed. A sign of how much love there is in this house.” Montag, while crying, recounted the chaos that occurred while packing the emergency bag, saying: “I only have two pairs of jeans and two shirts. The main thing is that we are safe and out.”
Actor James Woods collapsed during a live interview on CNN after being evacuated from his home in Pacific Palisades. “I’m sorry, I was only in the pool one day, and the next day, it was all gone,” he said while crying.
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, also lost a home in Malibu. She posted a video of the sea view on Instagram with the caption: “This is what I was looking at on my birthday last weekend from my little house on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred happy place. And now it’s gone!!”
Despite the devastation, some stars were luckier. Jamie Lee Curtis, Ben Affleck, Bill Hader, and star wars Actor Mark Hamill was among those whose belongings survived the fire. Hamill described the disaster as “the most horrific fire since 1993” in a post on Instagram, assuring his fans of his safety.
The wildfires, now spanning more than 27,000 acres, are among the most devastating in Los Angeles’ history, leaving communities shattered and countless lives changed forever.
