Actor Jamie Lee Curtis She opened her appearance on Tonight show Wednesday night talks about the devastating fires in California. “It’s just a disaster,” she said. “Apparently there have been terrible fires in many places. This is where I live.”

The fires spread across tens of thousands of acres, destroying homes and businesses and killing at least five people. The area also happens to be a hub for famous people — actors, musicians, comedians and more — who share their experiences and resources on how to help those most affected and first responders.

Billy Crystal shared Statement with CNN on Wednesday, saying, “Janice and I have lived in our home since 1979. We have raised our children and grandchildren here. … We are saddened, of course, but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this. Praying for the safety of our firefighters and first responders, the Pacific Palisades community is “A resilient community with great people that we know will bounce back over time.”

Chrissy Teigen posted a message Instagram story Saying that she and her husband, John Legend, had vacated their home with their family.

Paris Hilton Shared on Instagram Her Malibu home burned down, and she wrote that “while the loss is devastating, I hold on to gratitude that my family and pets are safe.” She added that her nonprofit, 11:11 Media Impact, is reaching out to other organizations to help. “We are committed to providing assistance as quickly as possible and making a tangible difference to those who need it most,” Hilton wrote.

Comedian and podcaster Marc Maron posted a video of himself and his cats They were also evacuated. “The fire was very close,” he added.

The fires break out during a typically busy period of Hollywood’s awards season. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that the Academy Awards nominations have been postponed for two days. The Screen Actors Guild has canceled a live announcement of its award nominees, opting for a statement instead. The Writers Guild of America is also postponing the release of award nominations.

Actor Jean Smart posted a Statement on Instagram Push to stop any ceremony altogether: “I hope that any of the networks televising the upcoming awards will seriously consider not televising them and donating the revenue they would have generated to the fire victims and firefighters.”
