Exclusive: Football royalty including Bill Belichick, Tony Dungy, Mike Tomlin, Urban Meyer, Roger Goodell, Sean McVay and Tony Romo are among the speakers in the new documentary. The goal of the game.
Recently released, the film is based on a book of the same name written by legendary high school football coach Chuck “Chico” Kyle (pictured below) in which he imparts wisdom about why the game is played. You can see a First teaser above.
The doc sees Shakespeare and Chaucer’s teacher Kyle turn 50y and senior year at inner-city Cleveland, St. Ignatius High School in Ohio. Humble teacher first Kyle will be quick to regale you with Macbeth and Othello quotes from memory rather than mentioning that he engineered the greatest high school football dynasty the country has ever seen — winning an impressive 11 high school championships and four national titles over 20 years — and in the process, shaping the lives of thousands of his students and players through a philosophy he would devote his life to despite having greater financial coaching opportunities elsewhere. The film mixes anecdotes, wisdom and practical insights from football stars with footage of Kyle. Emotional farewell season.
The film is directed and produced by Matt Waldeck of Zodiac Features (I see you, Beautiful Jackson) with Ben Hecht, Travis Killian and Blake Williams among the executive producers.
Sales are managed by United Talent Agency and XYZ. Financing was provided by Zodiac Holdings.
