Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on Rodrigo Bentancur after the midfielder collapsed during the Liverpool match.
Bentancur was substituted at half-time of Tottenham’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool, as he appeared to lose consciousness following a corner kick.
The Uruguayan was taken off the field and replaced by Brennan Johnson after he was deemed unfit to continue.
Bentancur received treatment on the pitch for around 10 minutes, and while it was confirmed he was conscious after his withdrawal, he was taken to hospital for “further observations”.
Tottenham went on to win the first leg 1-0 thanks to a stunning goal from Lukas Bergvall, and will now look to finish the job at Anfield next month.
Ange provides updated Bentancur
Ahead of the FA Cup tie with Tamworth, Postecoglou provided an update on Bentancur’s condition and when he is expected to return to the team.
“It feels like a concussion but nothing more,” Ang said.
“He was in hospital, of course, and they ran all the tests and made sure everything was fine.
“And it’s all good. He’s back home. He’s fine. He’s feeling good. Obviously we’ll follow the protocols now. I think you’ll have to make sure everything is fine in a couple of weeks.”

Bentancur himself sent a message to the fans after the match, thanking them for their support and congratulating his team on the win.
books On Instagram: “It’s all good guys. Thank you for the messages. Congratulations to Al Nasr Boys!!!”
Bentancur has scored twice in the Premier League this season in nine appearances after starting the season injured.
The 27-year-old is a key player for Spurs, and Postecoglou will likely be happy that his side only face a side ranked 16th in the National League this weekend.
