Amid a trial for the death of Diego Maradona, the legendary football player launched his description of the “very difficult patient” by the surgeon

Jarrah told trial on Thursday to seven health specialists accused of criminal negligence for his death. Argentine football legend died on November 25, 2020 at the age of 60, while at home he recovered from brain surgery to perform a blood clot. His seven -people medical team is tried for what the Public Prosecutors called the “Horror Theater” to take care of it in the last days of his life, in a private house in the suburb of Tigri Buenos Aires. Maradona died due to heart failure and severe pulmonary edema – a condition in which the liquid accumulates in the lungs – two weeks after going under the knife.

One of the questions in the heart of the trial is whether the decision to allow him to start a private house instead of a medical facility displays his life.

Neurosurgery Rudolfo Benfinotti supervised Maradona surgery.

He told the court that he had struggled to persuade Maradona to conduct a CT scan in advance.

“He was very difficult,” Benfinotti recalls, describing it as “challenging.”

He said that Maradona wanted to leave the clinic as soon as possible after the surgery and was not “no hospitalization other than home care.”

He said he believed that the star’s condition needs a daily evaluation by the doctor.

But the evidence to the court has so far shown that his team of care providers had only identified your doctor’s weekly visits, one of which has failed due to Maradona’s hesitation.

Maradona was found dead in bed with a day nurse.

The trial has so far focused on the conditions of his home sponsorship, which general prosecutors described as starkly neglected.

The defendants risk identifying the prison terms between eight and 25 years if they were convicted of “killing with a possible intent” – following up the procedure path despite the knowledge that it may lead to death.

The trial is scheduled to continue in the Buenos Aires suburb of San Issidro, which started on March 11, until July.
