Aaron Rodgers says the future with the Jets will be decided by the new general manager, coach
Aaron Rodgers provided an update on his future with the New York Jets on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Thursday, citing the team’s impending head coach and general manager hires as key factors in the decision.
“I think everyone understands that it’s going to be up to the general manager and the coach and myself and whether we all want to do the dance together or whether it’s not in the cards,” Rodgers said in his first public comments since the Jets regular season game. The season ends on January 5.

The 41-year-old quarterback has not fully committed to returning for his 21st NFL season in 2025, but he discussed the topic during exit meetings last week with team president Himi Elhai, vice chairman Christopher Johnson and owner Woody Johnson.
New York has Completed interviews With 15 GM candidates and 12 coaching candidates as of Thursday, including interim coach Jeff Ulbrich, who led the Jets to a 3-9 record after Robert Saleh was fired in October.
“There are obviously moving pieces in New York. There are more names being announced every day that the team is looking at, but my contact with them is limited,” Rodgers added.
Rodgers finished the regular season with 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a 90.5 passer rating, the lowest of any season in which he played at least 15 games.
