A message from Gaza to Mr. Trump Israel’s conflict and the two

Dear Mr. Trump,
I write to you as a Palestinian and survivor of the genocide, which was born and brought up in Gaza – the city of love and flexibility.
I have read your statements about Gaza and frankly, I am confused.
You claim that you are a “peacemaker”, but encouraged Israel to continue the genocide, and called for “all hell” to lose if your request is not fulfilled.
Mr. Trump, we have already passed through hell. We lost 60,000 martyrs in it.
You claim credit for the ceasefire deal, however your government – one of its guarantors – refuses to pressure Israel to fulfill all its obligations according to it.
You call Gaza “demolition site”, but it easily fails to name the responsible criminal – at the same time providing it with more bombs, financing and diplomatic cover.
You are talking about the fact that the Palestinians are “safe” and “Saeed”, yet you refer to us as if we were a burden on emptying it on Jordan or Egypt or any country ready to transfer us.
It claims that “we only want to be in the Gaza Strip because of [we] I don’t know anything else. “
Mr. Trump, I think you are severely understood who we are and what Gaza is for us.
You may think of us as just an obstacle to your vision of luxury resorts, but we are people with deep roots, long history and inalienable rights. We are the legitimate owners of our lands.
Gaza is not your commercial project, and it is not for sale.
Gaza is our home, our land, our inheritance.
No, it is not true that we want to stay here because “we don’t know anything else.” Although the 17-year-old Israeli blockade made life very difficult for us, some of us are still able to travel-education, medical treatment or work. But these people are still returning because Gaza is at home.
A strong example is that Dr. Raifat Alloer, an inspiring figure, who targeted and killed the Israeli profession in 2023. He obtained a master’s degree in the United Kingdom and then completed a doctorate at the University of Potha Malaysia.
Despite the opportunity to stay abroad, he chose to return to Gaza, where he taught creative writing and literature at the Islamic University. We are also not numbers, and it is an initiative that associates young Palestinian writers with experienced authors to inflate their voices and resist the profession by telling stories. One of these voices is mine.
Last spring, I also had the opportunity to leave, but I decided against him. I could not leave my family, friends and Gaza in the midst of the genocide war. However, like many others, I plan to travel to complete my education and then return to help rebuild and support popular.
This is the Palestinian method – we are looking for knowledge and opportunities, not to abandon our homeland, but to build and promote it.
Talking about construction – you talk about your plans to convert Gaza into “Riviera to the Middle East.” The thing is that Gaza was the Riviera in the Middle East. Our ancestors built it in a prosperous commercial center, a port city and a cultural center. It was “wonderful” – using your words – until Israel was created and began to destroy it.
However, after every brutal Israeli attack on Gaza, the Palestinians will rebuild. Despite all Israeli violence, restrictions and theft, the Palestinians are still making sure that Gaza was a safe place with a comfortable life, as its youth were doing their best to follow up on decent livelihoods, as families were happy and where the houses flourished.
Israel has now tried to reduce all Gaza to ruins and death, so we are no longer able to live in it. I picked up the idea, and effectively assaulted our ethnic cleansing under the peel of humanity.
No, Mr. Trump, we will not be “happy” and “safe” elsewhere.
But I agree with you on something else that I said: “You have to learn from history.” In fact, history teaches us that colonial assimilation in the modern era is not sustainable. In this sense, your plans and plans of Israel are failed.
We, the people of Gaza – are like any indigenous people – we refuse to uproot it. We refuse to get rid of it. We refuse to have to exile so that our land can be delivered to the highest bidding. We are not a problem that must be solved; We are a people who are entitled to live in our homeland in freedom and dignity.
There is no amount of bombs, siege, or tanks that make us forget that. We will not be transferred, resettled, or replaced.
Power and wealth will not decide the fate of Gaza. History is not written by thieves – it is written by those who resist, with the will of people. Regardless of pressure, our relationship with this land will not be separated. Surrender and abandonment is not an option. We will honor our martyrs with resistance by feeding this land with love, care and memory.
I wish you all the best in your unjust endeavors,
Hassan Abu Qar
